This weekend I spent a few hours here with my good friend
Konda.
I had never been to Market before and wasn't sure what to expect. The first day that I went was School House. I was able to spend the Day with Konda and the Michelle's...not a rock group, but we had just as much as one :) That day we hopped from class to class learning about colors, fabric, trends and picking up free samples along the way.
A couple of days later, I went back to Market and to help Konda man her booth. She was featuring her new book Simply Charming Modern. Which I do have to say is pretty amazing. All of her quilts are made with charm packs and some yardage. I know!
The quilt that I sewed up for her is the pink one hanging on the rack. You can't see much of it, but I did make another one for a friends wedding recently. There is also a full picture of the pink one in the book.

The booths and aisles went on
forever. Seriously, I don't think I even saw half of them when I walked around. Konda has some pictures on
her blog that will give you an idea of size. First I scouted out local friends -
Emily was there with her
new fabric line (and got an award for her magazine cover worthy booth). She has some amazing pictures of market on her blog.
Margie was sporting some new skinnies and her booth was always swarming with people. Then there was Shasta and the girls from
Izzy and Ivy always the life of the party.
The list goes on and on. While I loved the fabric and patterns, the best part by far was the people.
I walked away inspired, fabric samples in hand and a new computer program to boot. Life seems to be pulling me in a new, yet old direction. Don't you love it when that happens?
